HSI Junior System Administrator 

 

Description:
HSI is excited about our continued growth and are seeking a Junior System Administrator to manage our server infrastructure. The successful candidate will have working knowledge of Microsoft Windows environments, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, TCP-IP, PC hardware, user and group management, remote access and general network/information security. Candidates must also possess excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, documentation skills, and perform with minimal supervision.

 

Tasks and responsibilities include:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware & software issues in a timely manner
  • Record all client inquiries in ticketing system; from initial call to incident resolution
  • Perform on-site troubleshooting of hardware, network, & software
  • Serve as point of escalation for helpdesk staff
  • Perform new software/hardware installations, configurations, and upgrades
  • Build and deploy workstation images using RMM software
  • Configure, maintain, & create workstation backups using backup tools
  • Install, Configure, & Support MS Office Products
  • Install and configure Broadband Internet modems, internal LAN Routers, Switches, NAS devices & WIFI
  • Perform audits of systems and hardware
  • Maintains the integrity and security of servers and systems
  • Configure and troubleshoot issues on Microsoft Surface devices
  • Diagnose and resolve issues with Google Apps for EDU
  • Use RMM software to diagnose issues and perform automation tasks
  • Assist customers in gaining access to various systems and servers
  • Ability to understand & articulate root cause on client issues
  • Work closely with the team to resolve or properly close aging tickets
  • Manage individual queue of tickets and respond, document, and close in a timely manner.
  • Ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction

 

Qualifications:

  • Excellent analytical abilities, project and time management skills, with ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Windows Server Operating Systems (2012 to 2019)
  • Active Directory management
  • Group Policy Management
  • Incident management and troubleshooting skills
  • Windows file shares and security administration
  • Windows 7 and 10 Desktop Operating Systems
  • Provides advice and training to end-users
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills.
  • Microsoft 365 and Azure Experience
  • Clear understanding of networks, including LAN/WAN/VPN, routers, switches, servers
  • Experience with RMM software
  • Imaging software experience
  • Multifactor Authentication
  • Desktop-based hardware support experience with Windows 7 and Windows 10 systems
  • Knowledge and experience of troubleshooting and setup of computer hardware, network devices & peripherals
  • Networking Experience in troubleshooting connectivity issues, DHCP, DNS
  • Experience removing viruses/malware/spyware
  • Self-motivated with the ability to follow directions, complete time-sensitive tasks, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision in a fast-paced and high stress environment
  • Strong planning and organizational skills; with the ability to document processes and procedures
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; including the ability to interact with people at various levels
  • Passionate about providing excellent customer service and follow-through to completion

 

Education, Experience, and Certifications:

  • 3+ years of providing desktop support with some in Level 2 or System Admin
  • Professional certifications (HDI-DST, MCSA, CompTIA A+) are a plus
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, Science or related field is a plus
